18 серпня в приміщенні Українського католицького університету у Львові відбулася зустріч близько 40 мирян та священнослужителів для обговорення концепції Братства Бориса і Гліба.
Серед мирян були представники бізнесу та освітньої сфери, громадські лідери, що часто подорожують Україною та світом і бачать потребу у новому братстві, що об’єднає хрещених чоловіків для створення нового світу.
Учасники ділилися досвідом з життя та діяльності у Франції, Бельгії, східній Україні, північному Іраці та Китаї та визначили кілька пріорітетних напрямків харитативної діяльності братчиків.
Братчики застановилися на важливості щоденно молитися спільною молитвою та роздумувати над біблійними читаннями у контексті їх щоденного життя.
Преосвящений Кир Борис, який виступив з ідеєю створення Братства, наголосив, що це об’єднання не має бути відповіддю на кризу, а має виходити із позитивного, братнього, об’єднавчого духу. Зокрема воно може бути ініціатором свідчення для зміни духовного та ментального клімату Росії та працювати над поверненням Європи до своїх християнських основ.
Учасники зібрання вирішили зустрітися 6 вересня, щоб підготувати жовтневу церемонію офіційного прийняття до Братства його перших формальних членів.
On August 18, some 40 laymen and clergy met in the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv to discuss the upcoming launch of the Brotherhood of Martyrs Borys and Hlib.
Among the laymen were business and academia leaders as well as non-profit sector professionals that travel extensively in Ukraine and across the world and have spotted the need for a new fraternal service organization to unite baptized men for the creation of a new world.
The participants shared their experience of life and work in France, Belgium, eastern Ukraine, northern Iraq and China, and have identified a host of priorities as far as charitable activities are concerned.
The importance of praying daily the same prayer was underlined as well as necessity to reflect about the passages of the Holy Bible assigned by the Brotherhood’s spiritual father — Fr Yuriy Shchurko — and their relevance to each member’s daily life.
His Excellency Borys (Gudziak), Eparch of the Paris Eparchy of St. Volodymyr the Great for Ukrainians of the Byzantine Rite in France, Switzerland, and the Benelux countries, who inspired the creation of the Brotherhood underlined the importance of launching this fraternal service organization not as a reaction to a crisis but to do it on a positive note, with a brotherly spirit of unification. Among many things, the Brotherhood can initiate testimonials that will spur changes in the spiritual and worldview climate of Russia. Or it can come with practical steps to get Europe back to its Christian roots.
The participants agreed to have their next assembly on September 6 to futher prepare for the official launch of the Brotherhood in mid-October.

Une quarantaine de laïcat et de clergé se sont rencontré à l’Université catholique ukrainienne sous la présidence de Mgr Borys Gudziak, président de ce dernier et évêque de l’Éparchie gréco-catholique Saint Volodymyr-le-Grand de Paris, pour discuter la conception d’une nouvelle fraternité nommée d’après saints Borys et Hlib.
Les laïcs ont été représentés par les entrepreneurs et les éducateurs, par les leaders publics et outres. En voyageant souvent en Ukraine et autour du monde, ils tous découvrent la nécessité d’une fraternité masculine des hommes baptisés pour création le monde nouveau.
En partageant son expérience de vie et d’activité en France, Belgique, Ukraine de l’Est, Iraq du Nord, et Chine, les participants de la rencontre ont fixé certains domaines prioritaires de son activité caritative ; ils se sont entendus en nécessité de la prière commune et de la réflexion sur les Écritures saintes dans le contexte de leur vie quotidienne.
Lors de la rencontre, Mgr Gudziak, inspirateur de l’idée de la Fraternité, a souligné que cette association masculine devait devenir non seulement une réponse sur la crise contemporaine de masculinité, mais aussi une expression de l’esprit fraternel de l’unité des hommes. En particulier, la Fraternité Saints Borys et Hlib pourrait devenir initiateur du témoignage masculin à la nécessité de changements du climat spirituel et mental de la Russie ainsi qu’à la nécessité de l’Europe de retrouver ses racines chrétiennes.
Les participants ont décidé à se rencontrer de nouveau le 6 septembre 2017 pour préparer la cérémonie officielle d’accueil des premiers membres de la Fraternité Saints Borys et Hlib en mois d’octobre.
